I've been in your shoes -- business is booming (yay!), you're shooting weddings and sessions every weekend, and suddenly you're spending way too much time sitting in front of the computer editing instead of living your life.
A few years ago, I was booked solid with weddings, had three associate photographers, and was working on very little sleep. I had no time to spend with my husband, and I barely had a social life. I started outsourcing some of my edits to a large company and realized quickly that I was spending just as much time fixing the images to match my style as I would have with doing it myself in the first place.
It went on like this for a while. I realized I needed help. Thankfully, one of my associate photographers became my in-house editor, and I also began working with a smaller editing company that used my own presets to edit my images. Only when I cut back on the number of weddings and sessions that I accepted did I start editing everything myself again. Why? Because I enjoy editing!
I get it. Not everyone likes to be behind a computer screen tweaking images all day. But I do! It's actually how I started my career, as a photographer and photo tech for a newspaper. Part of my job was to color correct images for printing (so I kind of have a knack for it). And with my almost 10 years experience as a wedding photographer & 6 years experience editing associate photographer images, I've established my own systems and workflows that allow me to edit images correctly and efficiently.
Now that I've retired from wedding photography, my mission is help photographers (like you!) have more time to do what they love. Let's work together to keep your business moving forward, without burning out in the process!
LET'S GET PERSONAL...
We have two dogs (Kodi + Kinsey) and a bearded dragon (Chi).
My husband and I met at Penn State, my freshman year and his sophomore. We've been together ever since!
I have two degrees - a B.A. from Penn State in Journalism and an A.A.S. in Individual Studies (Graphic Design and Photography) from Penn College.
My son was born in Green Bay, WI, and we will forever be cheeseheads! BUT, he absolutely LOVES the Nittany Lion and Penn State, so I forsee another PSU alum in our future.
I love beer, specifically IPAs or DIPAs. In our spare time we like to travel and try new breweries.
We currently are living in our RV while we're in the process of purchasing land and building our forever home!
Tacos, Cake, and Troegs Popcorn are at the top of my favorite foods list.
I look forward to learning more about you and your business soon!
